Behind the result - No mystery in the method
Monthly recurring amount = sum of entered monthly categories + (entered annual preventive-care and other annual costs) ÷ 12. Annualized recurring amount = monthly categories × 12 + annual categories. One-off setup = entered one-off categories combined. If a horizon is entered, horizon total = monthly recurring amount × months + one-off setup. Annual costs are evenly spread for planning, not timed to real bills. Blank categories are excluded and listed as missing; an entered 0 is a genuine zero. Calculations use integer hundredths for entered amounts, preserve annual totals internally and round displayed totals to 0.01. Rounding a displayed monthly average before multiplying can give a different number; horizon totals use the unrounded average. No region, insurance policy, vet fee, inflation, reimbursement or emergency amount is fetched or predicted.
Blank optional text is omitted. Missing numeric inputs and any arithmetic defaults are identified. Text is displayed literally, not interpreted as HTML. The tools do not fetch live vet prices, diagnose health issues, check medical records or replace a veterinarian. The plugin does not store your pet’s details or form inputs.

Are these local vet prices?
No. Every amount comes from you. Contact your vet, insurer or supplier for current quotes and check fees, exclusions, taxes and reimbursements separately.
Is the reserve an emergency-cost recommendation?
No. It is an amount you choose, not a prediction or assurance that an emergency will be covered. This tool cannot determine an adequate reserve.
Why is monthly average different from a real bill?
Annual amounts are spread over 12 months for planning. Actual bills may fall at another time. The tool does not create a payment calendar or insurance comparison.
Can I print the result, and are my pet’s details stored?
Print / Save PDF and Download text create copies you control. The plugin does not save inputs or results to a server, cookies or browser storage. Your browser may restore forms independently. Clear all resets the open page, but cannot erase downloaded files, printouts or browser autofill. Keep personal identifiers out of notes.
